Prayer Ministry In The Church

Every church that I have ever attended had a prayer ministry. Prayer is one of the heart beats of the church. Prayer is important, and Jesus said "My House shall be called a house of prayer". There are many scriptures in the Bible that speak of prayer from the book of Genesis to the book of Revelations. There are many accounts of Christ praying, the Apostles praying, and also many accounts within the old testament about prayer.

Prayer in many ways is the lifeline of our communication with God. Through prayer we communicate with God, make our requests known to Him, enter into His presence and stand the gap as watchmen for others. It is good to pray for others. In fact, it is a humble privilege to pray for others.

In the book of Acts prayer and the laying on of hands are mentioned in various sections of scripture. In many church's today prayer and the laying on of hands is actively pursued and the ministry of the Holy Spirit flows freely.

Actually God made prayer very simple. It doesn't take some spiritual giant to pray for people. It just takes a willing vessel to step out in faith and allow the Holy Spirit to be the Holy Spirit. It's when fear, lack of faith, a religious spirit, the precepts of men and having a good church service show gets in the way and hinders the Holy Spirit, that prayer ministries become in affective. That well scripted situation.

It amazes me how we sometimes turn the Kingdom of God into this well micro managed process as if we could add something to it. It amazes me how we sometimes take the simplest of things and make them difficult and within that process diminish the power of such and the anointing of God among us. I some how don't think Jesus had that in mind

The Great Prophetic Voice Of The King

Just imagine if your house was not built on concrete, but rather sand. Things could become very unstable at any given time. A earthquake could occur, or a winter storm. There could be a flood, or even a mudslide. The results could be very bad. Just imagine all the potential possibilities for disaster if your house was built on sand. Now imagine your life being built on sand.

Here are the words of Jesus on the matter. Life changing words that are over 2,000 years old, yet eternal.

Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

They key is reading, knowing, understanding and holding onto the sayings of Jesus.

The Spirit Will Bear Witness

Let's say that someone gives you a prophetic word that has to do with your life, calling and mission. How long should you wait on that prophetic word? How long should you wait on any prophetic word for that matter? Truth is a prophetic word could be a now word, a tomorrow word or a next season word. It could also be for 5, 10, or 20 years down the road. Ouch!

Even so, test the words that you receive. Make sure that they line up with the word of God and most importantly that the spirit is on those words. You see, the spirit will bear witness to a prophetic word. God will confirm it, and God will not leave you confused, for God is not the author of confusion.

Prophetic Vanities To Entice

Do you see it? The prophetic movement that prophesies from one conference to the next conference, from one season to the next season and always has a word that creates hype.

Of course within such are dollar signs, admission fees, teaching tapes, books, donations, building projects and the bottom line is money.

Few of these so called prophets work, or hold a regular job. Most of them market the prophetic ministry, the Kingdom, God's Word and within such provide a measure of entertainment all for a price.

You shall know them by their fruits .... and the words that they speak.

I believe that they do exists. That God created them and that they are a part of God's Kingdom, plans and purposes here on earth and in the lives of humans.

Be Watchful

The Path We Choose

Sometimes we make choice that we think have no consequences. Many times after we make choices the consequences are put in place.

Many times God's grace covers such things for a time and even times. God is patient, longsuffering and desires that we make right the wrongs that we commit, especially against others.

However when we make the wrong choices and expand on those choice refusing to change course. The seasons come when our choice start manifesting the consequences.

It is better to examine a situation and undue the wrongs committed than to expand on the wrongs and fall into the seasons of consequences.

Never hinder others while bringing trumped up accusations against them. You never know what you might be hindering while creating seasons and hardships that could have been avoided.

The Application Of Prophetic Words

Luk 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Luk 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

Luk 8:13 They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

Luk 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of this life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

Luk 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.

Why is it so hard to reconsider one's ways and change course? This is not rocket science and God isn't changing. It was so simple. Change course, undue the wrongs.

Seek Christ Daily And Calm The Storms Of Life

Seek the Lord in prayer and worship and blessings will begin to flow over your life. Spend quiet times with God and quiet the storms of life. Seek His face and behold his beauty. You! were created to worship the King.

Jer 29:9 For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.

Prophetic Voices

The lands are filled with prophets and prophetic voices. However he is a promise from God which is a blessing:

Rev 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.

Read the Book of Revelations. It is a wonderful book filled with mystery and blessings to behold.

The Father's Voice

Mat 3:16 And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:

Mat 3:17 And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.

Just imagine hearing the words "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased".

Test The Spirits

Act 16:16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:

The Gift Of Prophecy
